About the Exxaro Bursary
Exxaro Resources is inviting students to apply for its Students Living with a Disability Bursary Programme for the 2027 academic year.
The bursary programme is offered through Exxaro Corporate Centre (The ConneXXion) and aims to support students from Exxaro host communities in Mpumalanga and Limpopo.

Bursaries will be awarded for studies within the following fields:
- Agriculture and Environmental Management
- Arts and Humanities
- Business and Economics
- Education and Teaching
- Engineering and Technology
- Health Sciences
- Information and Communication Technology (ICT)
- Law and Social Sciences
- Natural and Physical Sciences
About the Programme
Exxaro’s bursary programme focuses on supporting students living with disabilities while helping them pursue academic and career success without unnecessary barriers.
The programme aims to:

- Develop future professionals within various industries
Eligibility Requirements
Applicants must meet the following minimum requirements before applying:
- Must be a South African citizen
- Must be between 18 and 28 years old
- Must reside within an Exxaro host community in Mpumalanga or Limpopo
- Must be living with a disability as recognised under the Employment Equity Amendment Act (EEA)
- Must be enrolled in a minimum 3-year Degree or Diploma programme
- Must study within one of the approved fields listed above
- Must study at a recognised and accredited tertiary institution in South Africa
- Must maintain the required academic average outlined in the bursary agreement
- Must attend classes and complete academic responsibilities
- Must provide academic progress reports each semester
- Must participate in bursary-related initiatives where applicable
- Must uphold good conduct and represent Exxaro positively
- Must commit to work-back obligations or internships if required
- Must notify the bursary office of important academic or personal changes
Required Documents
Applicants must submit the following supporting documents:
- Certified copy of South African ID document
- Certified copy of Matric certificate
- Full tertiary academic record or transcripts
- Medical letter confirming disability status
- Proof of residence
Applications with incomplete documents may not be considered.
